Excel Automation Work

Before retiring from work as an IT professional in 2022, during the last 22 years of my career I worked as as a Technical Trainer specializing in the use of Microsoft Excel.

In 2007, I created a Series of Three 1-Day Workshops that taught how to Automate Repetitive Excel Tasks & Projects. The hands-on skills learned by participants were uniquely designed to avoid the technical overwhelm of typical VBA* coding courses. By using Best Practices for Macro Recording and modification of generated VBA code, typical Excel users were able to  speed up their otherwise time consuming and error prone repetitive Excel work. By 2021, more than 2000 business professionals had learned these highly rated skills. through CPA* Organizations and Community Colleges.

From 2014 to 2016, this training was converted to Self-Paced Video Training Courses, accessed and supported via the Internet. While I've retired from offering this training, it could still greatly ease the burden of doing repetitive Excel Project Work. For more info visit excelsmart.com.

Also, since retiring, I've used these Excel automation skills to create a Memory Matching Game, based on ideas taken from TV Game Shows called Concentration and Jeopardy. I've played this game by projecting it on a TV screen during social gatherings, and it's been a fun way to involve everyone in a bit of friendly competition.

For the future, I hope to expand and extend this "game creation work" into learning tools that can assist in the recall of important information related to any area of interest, such as my "Christ Life Care Ministries" work.
